We have been busy getting bedrooms ready, organizing events, getting silent auction donations, etc., etc., and now the time is almost here! On Monday evening the eight kids from Stara Zburivka arrive: Vanya-12, Vova-10, Vasya-11, Natasha-11, Sasha-10, Zshenia-10, Vitalia-12 and Ilona-11. We will have four of the children, Vanya and his brother Vova, and the two girls, Ilona and Natasha, at our home July 28-August 8. Please join us on one of our outings or give us a call and come over and visit and meet the kids!
We do still need a couple things for a camp to come together:
1. Urkainian dinner/silent auction, August 3, 5-8 p.m. Tickets are $15. The kids will be serving us a meal, live music, and lots of great items to bid on. Please come to this wonderful event-our biggest fundraiser of the year!
2. Check out www.ukraineorphans.org for other opportunities to donate and volunteer, such as purchasing a birthday gift for one of the kids, clothes, chaperoning at events such as the Wal-Mart shopping trip, Rockies game, community birthday party, provide a meal or giving a monetary donation to expenses. There are many ways to touch the lives of these orphans!
