We are in the middle of our third annual UOO camp. Please check out the
UOO website for our schedule if you want to come and meet the kids. If you want to see a recap of each day of camp, check out
Felix and Heidi's blog. As happens every year, as soon as I meet the kids my heart starts to ache for all of them. They are wonderful kids who all deserve a family. We have been having a lot of fun together as they learn all about the US. Here are a few photos from the last week.
We have a traditional birthday party every year for the kids. This is something they don't get in their orphanages.

All of the UOO kids and Yuliya

A special treat for Ashley. One of the UOO chaperones works for Christian Broadcast Network (CBN) in Kiev. When Ashley came to the US during Christmas 2007, she stayed with Yuliya for two weeks in Kiev prior to her trip while they rehearsed for the Russian Shoemaker play. We did not know Yuliya was chaperoning until they arrived at the Denver airport! Another sweet, Christian role model for Ashley-thank you, Lord!

So glad to hear it is going so well!! Wish I could be there too :) I'm glad that Ashley and Yulia have gotten to reconnect as well- she is a very special young woman! :) Praying the next 2 weeks are just as great!
Love, Karen
Kari - can you please say "hi" to Yulia for me? I'm so glad she's there with you guys - she is an amazing role model for those kids, and has a heart of gold!

Just wanted to stop by and say hello since I noticed you're following our blog. What a blessing for you guys to have such a supportive community of adoptive families there!
By the way, I liked seeing your Mount Rushmore trip pics. I grew up in SD, so they brought back fun memories of family trips out to the Black Hills.
Blessings to you and yours!
