God Uses the Ordinary

We are leaving in one week! Lufthansa allows us 236 lbs of luggage, and I think we will be at our limit. We are taking 50 lbs of donations (thanks John & Twyla!), Christmas presents for some orphans near to our hearts and our friends to mail when we get to Ukraine, Christmas presents for some missionaries in Kiev from their family here in the States, and of course our own "stuff"! Packing light is not happening!

I wasn't planning on blogging this week until I read three other blogs today. Has adoption ever crossed your mind or a story of a child abandoned, abused or needy touched your heart? I have links here to three blogs. Don't ignore this, click the links and read each one. The first one is very long, don't skip over a word. Buckle your seatbelt, you may find yourself soon going on a wild ride. God uses the ordinary, we are proof. We can think of many people who, in our minds, are more qualified than we are to adopt. There are an estimated 143 million orphans waiting for an ordinary family to take an extrodinary leap of faith.

A Plea From Two Sisters

Please pray for us and our wild ride. We have many doubts and fears, yet as we continue to trust God and move forward, He has filled us with peace, joy, excitement and wonder.

Preach it sister! Since when does God call ordinary people to do extraordinary things? Uh, that would be ALWAYS! I can't think if a better way to touch the heart of God then to take care of his children. God Bless you(s)!!

Hi Kari,
Please know that you are all being covered by many prayers as you begin this stage of your journey. Thanks for posting the links, Dr. David's was wonderful. I pray that with the combination of the three a family for the two sisters will surface before it is too late.
Love,
Aimee

We were in Odessa from December 4 through February 4 this past year, so if you have questions, ask away. We found the SDA appointment an interesting 5 minutes, but I'm glad it went so quickly. God bless. We are praying that everything will go smoothly.

We're another ordinary family who God has called to the task. We are so broken for the children and want to adopt them and minister to them and find Christian families for them!

We'll be praying for you and will be on pins and needles right along with you. :-) Blessings on your journey!
